Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is intended to stop the so-called email spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one email, but to appear as being sent from a different, usually with the objective to fraud the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, an exclusive record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record includes all the e-mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an address under the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the target receiver. In case, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be forwarded and it will be discarded. If you employ this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam emails that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for every domain hosted in a shared website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with just a few mouse-clicks. The feature is accessible in the Emails section of our state-of-the-art Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to use it is to choose one of your domain names from the drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers that will be approved to send email messages from your emails. As an added option you may also restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This option gives you the highest degree of safety, but it's not applicable in case only your site is on our servers while your email addresses for the domain are handled elsewhere. Either way, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses protected from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you host your domains in a semi-dedicated server account from our company, you will be able to benefit from the SPF protection feature as part of the standard set of services that you will get using this type of hosting. Activating the protection will require only several easy steps in the Hepsia Control Panel, thus even in case you have never used this type of feature before, you will not have any kind of troubles. Through a really time and effort saving interface, you will simply have to type in the information of the mail server that will be permitted to send messages from your email addresses - its hostname (mail.server.com) and IP address (IPv4 or IPv6). The moment the newly created record propagates, nobody will be able to counterfeit any email for that particular domain name and send out messages from a server other than the one you have typed in. This doesn't necessarily have to be our mail server, still in case we take care of your email messages, you are able to enable an extra level of protection by picking an option that e-mail messages can be send out from addresses @your-domain.com only if the domain employs our MX records. Our tech support team will be able to assist you 24/7 in case you have any questions related to this service.
